Sound Project #1 and #2 blog post
I learned how to create foley in the videos. I learned how to create synchronous foley sounds. I learned how to create a soundscape. I learned how to use a sound motif when creating sounds for my one-word film.
Sound project instructions #1- Tell a story through various sounds effects and auditory techniques. Choose a scene to develop the project and you may only use 7 words. Create an outline of what to accomplish. Four sound effects must be made using foley.
Sound project instructions #2- Add sounds to your one-word film. Develop a list of sounds in outline form to implement them into your one-word film.
Approach to sound project #1- Our approach was to describe a high school football game of players warming up and then the game starting and the player breaking a bone. We executed this by using foley for sounds like breaking bone and players hitting each other.
Approach to sound project #2- Our approach was to use foley for most of the sounds, so we didn't have a problem synchronizing it to the one-word film video.
Brainstorming project #1- We brainstormed an idea simple but fun to create because you can imagine a lot going on during the audio.
Brainstorming project #2- We decided to use foley because it would be best to synch our film to the sounds by watching the film and creating the sounds simultaneously.
Outline #1- Our outline helped us because we knew exactly what was going to happen in order, so we knew to overshoot every scene trying to be described through the audio.
Outlie #2- Our outline helped us organize how we were gonna time our foley sounds to our video.
Editing resource #1- We decided to mostly fade our sounds so it can have a smooth feeling and not very choppy when trying to cut to a different sound and a smooth sound will help better understand what is trying to be exhibited.
Editing resource #2- Me and partner also decided to use fade and slow down some sounds we hadn't used for foley so it can sychronise better with one-word film.
Analysis #1- I think me and my partner didn't execute the soundscape well enough and we can do better on that
Analysis #2- I think me and my partner did not use enough sounds to represent what was going on the the audience and i also think that the sounds werent synchronised well enough to make the film look smooth upon firts look.
